Dr. Cecile Windels

started the Healthy Child in March 2007. She has been a pediatrician in Fairfield County for over twenty years. After graduating from Cornell University, she entered the Peace Corps. As a volunteer, she taught in Ghana for two years. During that time, she decided to pursue a career in medicine. Subsequently, she completed premedical course requirements at Columbia University School of General Studies. Dr. Windels also worked in cataract research at The Eye Institute at Columbia. She received the Doctor of Medicine degree from New York Medical College. Dr Windels completed her internship and residency in pediatrics at Yale Children’s Hospital where she was the Chief Resident in Outpatient Pediatrics. She began her career in private practice with a large pediatric group in Stamford. She was responsible for creating a satellite office for this practice in Darien. Seeking to provide more personal and the highest quality care for pediatric patients, she decided to open The Healthy Child. Dr. Windels is Board Certified in Pediatrics and is recertified every seven years. She also holds certification in Neonatal Advanced Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. Dr. Windels is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, The Fairfield County Medical Association and an attending physician at Stamford Hospital. Her special practice interests include pediatric asthma and allergies, as well as the psychological and educational issues of children.

 

Dr. Elizabeth Bailey

Dr. Elizabeth Bailey joined the Healthy Child in October 2009.  Previously, she provided pediatric care at Chapel Pediatrics and was the director of the Pediatric Primary Care Center at the Hospital of Saint Raphael in New Haven.  While Dr. Bailey enjoyed teaching Yale University medical students and residents, she decided to join The Healthy Child so that she could provide direct care to patients and their families.

Dr. Bailey grew up in Riverdale in the Bronx. She is a lifelong Yankee fan.  She was awarded a  BS degree in Biology, with a minor in English Literature, from Georgetown University .  She continued her schooling at Georgetown University School of Medicine and then completed her pediatric residency training at New York Presbyterian Hospital Cornell, on the Upper East Side in New York City.
 
In 2009 and 2010, she traveled on medical missions to Vietnam with Changing Children’s Lives  an organization which provides free surgical and medical care to children with cleft lips and cleft palates in developing countries.
 
Dr. Bailey remains involved in interviewing and mentoring activities with both Georgetown and her high school, The Ursuline School in New Rochelle, NY.
 
Dr. Bailey is  board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.  She is also a member of the medical staff at Stamford Hospital, a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and a member of the Fairfield County Medical Association.

Dr. Catherine Ford

Dr. Catherine Ford is a board certified pediatrician practicing primary care pediatrics since 2001. She is a graduate of Boston College with a B.S. in Biology, cum laude and a graduate of Georgetown University School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric internship and residency at Emory University School of Medicine and served as Chief Resident in Pediatrics and Assistant Program Director from 2000-2001 at Emory University.

Dr. Ford began working in primary care pediatrics in Boston, MA and its surrounding suburbs for 7 years.   After the birth of her daughter, she relocated to Fairfield County.  Dr. Ford was previously employed as an attending physician in the newborn nursery of Norwalk Hospital and also worked part-time in an outpatient practice in Norwalk, CT.

She has volunteered, weekly, on a mobile medical van serving homeless teenagers in the inner city of Boston and went on a medical mission to the Dominican Republic in 2007. Dr. Ford has developed a working knowledge of medical Spanish during her years of medical training and employment.

Dr. Ford takes time and care in getting to know her pediatric patients in the context of their immediate and extended family members and has developed a diverse patient following over the past four years of practicing in the Norwalk community. She has a special interest in neonatal care, adolescents and sports medicine.

She is a fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics, a member of the Irish-American Pediatric Society and the Women’s Medical Association of Fairfield County.

Vanessa Filippelli, PNP, APRN, CLC

We are excited to announce that Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Vanessa Filippelli, APRN has joined our practice.  Dr. Bailey was particularly pleased to be working with Vanessa again, as they previously enjoyed working together at the Hospital of Saint Raphael in New Haven.  Vanessa is an excellent clinician, with extensive experience both in emergency and inpatient pediatric medicine and in outpatient well child care.  She received her undergraduate degree from Wellesley College and completed her clinical training at Yale University. 

Vanessa is a Certified Lactation Consultant. She sees new mothers and infants in the office for weight checks, feeding difficulties and breastfeeding concerns. Vanessa will also perform home visits to assist mothers in the transition at home with breastfeeding newborns.

Some of our patients may already know Vanessa because she also works in the Greenwich Hospital Emergency Room and at the Saint Raphael campus of Yale New Haven Hospital.
